With the MetrO series ending we can look forward to some NavDash Sprint events. For readers unfamiliar with NavDash Sprint format, here’s a word of explanation, since the name can be a little misleading. NavDash Sprint orienteering courses are relatively short, with intended winning times of 12–15 minutes. The maps are usually 1:4000 or 1:3000 scale, so very detailed.
There are lots of controls on the courses, commonly about one for each 100m of the course, so racing requires quick decision-making and sustained concentration. You can of course take your time, walk and enjoy the park.
